Stridulators, Ethersonic, Massive Stereo Sellout, Limbic
Eighties industrial cassette label House Of Squirm was reborn in 2023 as a BandCamp, Cassette and Lathe cut vinyl offering and it celebrates the joy of that this March at Audio Foundation.
Label Acts Stridulators, Ethersonic and Massive Stereo Sellout will span ambient - industrial - drone - psych and more along with the projection of original artist video imagery. An acclaimed cult act forging new ground since the 80’s, Stridulators perform rarely so this should be a treat. Ethersonic is on an NZ-AUS tour sharing it’s blend of cinematic sound and industrial ambience fresh from the long established drone and noise scene of Brighton UK. Massive Stereo Sellout will perform it’s twisting Industrial textures and beats for the first time in almost 4 decades covering material from their original Flying Nun release and brand new work from 2023. A one-off collaboration will also improvise in response to a 30 minute film under the name Limbic.

Ethersonic, _chuckr, Josh Shipton
Aotearoa born, UK residing sonic and video artist Ethersonic plays 107 Redfern as part of an Antipodean tour with collaborators _chuckr and Josh Shipton. With a background in site specific expanded cinema and industrial-ambient sound, Ethersonic will screen artist video from the UK and Norway and perform a set of live ambient-drone-industrial sounds. As part of the event, local artists _chuckr and Josh Shipton will add their own interventions and a collaborative piece to the event under the name Limbic.
Ethersonic UK based Ben Hayman draws on source recordings gathered over decades of live work in abandoned spaces and his post-punk beginnings. As Ethersonic he mines loops and layers of occasional instrumentation to create an industrial-ambient state. Video loops and light projection contraptions feature in most events.
_chuckr Duo collaboration between Dahyo Lloyd (gas mask and electronics) and Maddy Briggs (stringed instruments) causes sonic interference and hope in the future generators. Both visually and audibly intense.
Josh Shipton With a 5 octave vocal range, more delays than you should allow on a pedal chain, a surprisingly well-trained musical background, and a mind that has misplaced the box outside of which he thinks, Josh brings whimsy and horror to solo vocalising.
